ATLAS OF AMERICAN MILITARY HISTORY

A complete overview of American military history from the early colonial era through the current war in Iraq. This book is due to be published later in 2004.

Toelke Associates designed this book for book packager Media Productions, Inc., of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., during the fall of 2003 and summer of 2004. The publisher is Facts on File. This book makes use of the extensive Facts on File map archive; existing maps were edited to conform to color conventions suggested for this book. In addition, numerous new maps were created by Facts on File especially for this book.

Our work on this project included:

• General and ongoing consultation to develop and produce the book.
• Visual and organizational concept, page design and typography.
• Consultation on final selection of pictures.
• Consultation for imaging, including providing some in-house scans and image editing where appropriate.
• Ron Toelke also participated as a paid consulting editor, working closely with the author on development of final content and review of manuscript. Developed general outline for parts and chapters, and developed concept and content list for eight “Instruments of War” two-page spreads.
