and an illustrated tour.

Ranch for publisher Images
from the Past, Bennington, Vermont in the spring
of 2002.
Our
work on this project included:
• General and ongoing consultation to develop and produce the book
• Visual concept, book jacket and hard cover foil stamp design, page design,
and typographic design
• Consultation on final selection of pictures
• Consultation for imaging, including providing in-house scans and image
editing where appropriate
• Organization and design of color picture section
• Delivery of files to printer in Hong Kong, review of proofs and AA’s
during pre-press
• Printing sourced through our printing associate RAAND

We
worked closely with the publisher throughout the entire process,
making sure that the project moved forward in a timely fashion,
especially considering the choice of an overseas printer. Any
delay in providing the finished files would have seriously
compromised delivery schedules. The book was delivered on time
and on budget. |

CONTENTS
An
intimate portrait of the Western White House - the Reagan Ranch,
Rancho del Cielo, in Santa Barbara - written by long-time Reagan
friend and associate, Peter Hannaford. Fascinating, often humorous
anecdotes and more than 50 color photographs (many rarely seen)
tell the story of the ranch: its rich history, how it compares
to other Presidential retreats over the last 200 years, and
how the Reagans acquired it and made it into a home of their
own. Some of the people and events included are a behind-the-scenes
look at the campaigns for the presidency; the challenges the
ranch posed to the Secret Service; Queen Elizabeth's memorable
visit in the pouring rain; visits by foreign counterparts,
including Margaret Thatcher and Mikhail Gorbachev; the press's
love affair with Santa Barbara; and numerous other accounts
that range from dealing with threats to national security to
the Thanksgiving Day menu. Hannaford captures Ronald Reagan's
larger-than-life persona in every chapter.
